By combusting hydrogen (e.g. like a fuel cell) there is no CO2 emitted. Great for an engine!
But also possibly great for the storage of energy generated by photovoltaic systems or weather-dependent energy solutions in general.
Electrolysis and fuel cells have a great potential for the reduction of CO2 emissions in industry and our day-to-day lifes.

Did you know, that you can store electrical energy by splitting H2O into H2 and O2?
Potential energy stored as H2 can be transformed back into electricity by recombining H2 and O2 into H2O by utilizing a fuel cell.
The hydrogen battery got a lot of benefits to the usual Li-Ion batteries:

  • Longevity
  • No corrosion of the electrolyte
  • Easy to recycle
  • No need for digging up Lithium in foregin mines
  • Ability to sell the generated H2 for hydrogen transportation methods and so on
